We do not have any warranty on used products.
Regarding warranty for transmissions, transfer cases and differentials please see below:
The standard guarantee is for a full one year/two years or 30,000 km, whichever occurs first. This guarantee has been developed in order to offer ordinary car owners security in their dealings with us. The exact terms of the warranty period are defined for each purchase.
Brief overview of the terms and conditions of the guarantee
The installation in the vehicle must be carried out in a professional manner and in accordance with the car manufacturer’s instructions. If someone other than LBM (or other than a workshop designated by LBM) carries out the installation, the purchaser must ensure that the installation engineer is sufficiently skilled and has the appropriate equipment at his or her disposition.
The faulty transmission should be returned to LBM. If the guarantee is found to be valid, the cost of transport within Scandinavia and Finland will be reimbursed. The mode of transport must therefore always be approved by LBM before the transmission is dispatched. LBM will also reimburse costs related to the installation and dismounting by third parties, up to a maximum of Euro 500 (exclusive of VAT). Such costs must be supported by a receipt, invoice or similar from the workshop that carried out the work. Reimbursement for the above-mentioned costs may only be claimed after a complaint has been approved. No reimbursement will be made for work carried out by private individuals.
The form “Installation certificate” must be completed in full and returned to LBM. The form must be submitted to us no later than one month from the delivery date. In order to invoke the guarantee, the customer must be able to show an acknowledgement from us that we have received the installation certificate, correctly completed, within the given deadline. Such acknowledgements are dispatched automatically. This document and the acknowledgement together form a guarantee certificate. These documents should be treated as valuable documents.
In case of a suspected defect related to the transmission, the vehicle must be removed from traffic immediately to avoid the defect from being aggravated or a traffic hazard from arising. Please contact LBM for a consultation immediately thereafter.
The guarantee does not cover…
In case of defects or damage caused by negligence or abnormal use (typical examples of abnormal use include racing or using the vehicle to tow a trailer that exceeds the weight limit; please refer to the registration certificate).
In case of defects or damage caused by incorrect installation and damage caused by defects in other components in the vehicle.
If products (such as transmission oil) have been used that have not been approved by the transmission’s original manufacturer, the car manufacturer or LBM.
If the vehicle in which the transmission is installed deviates from the original specification, for example due to engine tuning (unless LBM has given its written consent thereto).
If someone other than LBM has repaired, altered or modified the actual transmission in the guarantee period.
Recommendation for automatic transmissions...
The automatic transmission fluid should be replaced every 50,000km to ensure a long service life and good shifting comfort. If you often drive with a heavy trailer, the automatic transmission fluid should be replaced at a shorter interval (approximately every 30,000km).
